VOTE FOR YOUR FAVOURITE - No.4
VOTE FOR YOUR FAVOURITE - No.1
Here are two different versions of a heavy psych-proto-glam number with catchy analog synth riffs by two obscure bands, The Damned and Kid Rock. It's difficult to work out who wrote the song because the labels show two different authors. The A Side of both records are another little mystery. On The Damned single the A side is "Morning Bird", which was also released by a German band called Tiger B Smith. Kid Rock's A side "Ice Cream Man" came out on an EP attached to the magazine Strange Things in 1990 and was credited to a band called Clover.

TEARS - Anywhere, Any Time, Any One

TEARS - Ditt Minne / Anywhere, Any Time, Any One (Efel 1973)

Here's the first single released by Swedish band Tears. "Anywhere, Any Time, Any One" is a catchy glam-pop song that seems very infuenced by the early Sweet sound.
Another great Tears single called "Ooh Lah", which was released one year later on Gazell label, is already on this blog.
Swedish pressing.

SUNFIGHTER - Drag Race Queen / Riding On Your Star (EMI 1976)
A brilliant song from pop British outfit Sunfighter, who were active from 1975 to 1978 and released three singles. The line-up featured Rob Boughton and John Hardman on guitar and vocals, Jeb Milne and Rikki Peebles on vocals and later Melvyn Smith. "Drag Race Queen" was their first single and was produced by Roy Thomas Baker, which explains the Queen vibe.

GURU'S - Meditation Mama / Country Boy Blues (Philips 1971)
A crude and rough glam rocker with some cool guitar sounds from another obscure British outfit. "Country Boy Blues" was penned by Hogback And Pig, which is the name of another British band who released a couple of singles in the same year and who are probably behind this single too. UK issue.
