AXE - Puttin’ Me Down / Save Me (Gull 1974) Second record released by Gull, a Decca’s subsidiary. Produced by Rod Alexander and Bill Kimber for Hardcore Production, German issue.
ANGEL OF ISLINGTON - We Want A Superstar For Christmas / Have Yourself A Merry Christmas (Decca 1975) Christmas is coming so, here’s the right song from the Angel Of Islington featuring the children of Kings Gate School, West Hampstead. Produced by Nick Tauber and Paul Curtis.
TRIUMVIRAT - Dancer’s Delight / Timothy (Harvest 1973) Originally released by Harvest in ‘71, this is the 1973 reissue of the German power trio Triumvirat’s first single, a band which later become more popular in the prog rock circuit.
IRON CROSS - Everybody Rock On / All Of The Time (Palette 1974) Another amazing record by Iron Cross. "Everybody Rock On" came out one year after their other single “Little Bit O’ Soul”. Produced by Barry Kingston, Dutch issue.
LOVE AND TEARS - Much Too Youg / Action Man (Intercord 1973) This is not another version of the Vulcan’s song “Much Too Youg” (check Purepop blog, http://purepop1uk.blogspot.com), it’s exactly the same! In addition to this, Love And Tears’ works include three other singles, “Needles And Pins”, “Rock ‘n’ Roll Lullaby”, "Love Of Yesterday" and one LP. Who knows if the Vulcan are the “fake” ones… Having been produced by the German singer Micheal Holm, I guess they’re probably German too. Anyway, don’t miss the chance to hear again this great track. Enjoy!
