ROCKY RHODES - Crazy Eyes

ROCKY RHODES - Crazy Eyes / Rocky Rhodes' Boogie (Tiffany 1974)
Great and obscure British junkshop glam rock released on the short-lived Tiffany records. "Crazy Eyes" is a pure Mud-style performance, with prominent synth, ultra compressed drums and catchy guitars. UK issue, produced by Pete Sinfield.

  1. Never thought I'd hear THIS again! The 'prominent synth' figure on the opening is actually fuzz bass (a Pete Sinfield trademark a la 'Virginia Plain') played by yours truly. The band included Bob Daniels (Rocky), Bill Scott from Writing On The Wall on keyboards and Bob Taylor of The Downliners Sect and Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera on guitar. The song was written by Ian Ellis of Clouds and recorded in Command Studios in London's Jermyn Street. I believe Tiffany Records was a creation of Danny Posner, the band's then manager, ELP's publicist and Comic Book store proprietor! Billy Budis
