THE RIPPERS - Rape / Dance (Global Records 1971) Here's another typical Jonathan King production. "Rape" is a funny, catchy pop song made even better thanks to this amazing picture cover.
German issue.
CASA DAS MAQUINAS - Casa de Rock (1976) Cool video and great glam rock tune by '70s Brazilian band Casa das Máquinas. This track is from their third album "Casa de Rock", released in 1976. Enjoy!
DESIRA - Gorilla / Angel Demonic (Saga To Kong) (Thunder 197?) Here's a total obscurity released in the US maybe between 1976 and '78. Gorilla is a brutal glam-punker piece with loud guitar and wild vocals produced by Damon Alberti and Sam Kleinman. The single is accompanied by an amazing poster that reads "Don't Listen Alone...Recorded In The Jungle". Enjoy!
JETT BLACK - Mademoiselle / You Make Everything Dirty (Fiddlers 1977) Great single by obscure US outfit Jett Black. I couldn't find any info about this band, apart from a Canadian 80's AOR band with the same name, but I don't think it's the same group. However, both tracks on this single are a tough combination of hard rock, glam and punk. "Mademoiselle" was written in 1976 but the single was released one year later. US issue produced by Jett Black & Michael Bruce.
THE LOFTUS ROADRUNNERS - Queens Park Rangers / Drive Me Down To QPR (Gama 1977) UK pressing of this amazing football-glam two sider by The Loftus Road Runners. Both songs were produced by Max Hole and Wayne Bardell and written by Bruce Thomas, who also joined Elvis Costello and The Attractions. With the help of my friend Tim "Purr" and his great compilation, "On The Glitter Ball", other singles like this will be soon on Proudfoot Sound Blog.
STARK NAKED - Sins / Done (RCA 1971) Killer glam/punk number by Long Island, New York, hard prog band Stark Naked who also released an LP issued by RCA in 1971. US issue, produced by Joey Day.
JUTTA WEINHOLD - Cadillac / Ticket Nach Memphis (Ariola 1974) First single by German Jutta Weinhold who performed this cool Suzy Quatro-style number written and produced by Micheal Holm. German issue.
JACK STACK-A-TRACK - Good Time Music / Brother (Chelsea 1976) "Good Time Music" is a Beach Boys homage written, produced and performed by the popular American recording engineer Jack "Stack-A-Track" Grochmal, who is better known for engineering several albums for Johnny Cash in the '80s and '90s. UK pressing.
JUNGLE JIM - Linda Love / Baby Go Down (Pye 1972) Great rocker b side with fab guitar sound. Here's the second and last single by the British Jungle Jim, authors also of the single "Big Fat Oranguman" (you can listen to it in Purepop blog). UK issue, produced by Flotsam.
RENEGADE - Lovin' And Forgiving / Never Let Me Go (Parlophone 1973) After a short-lived career in Italy with the Sorrows and after releasing the beautiful "You're Still Mine" with Eggy, Pip Witcher and Roger Lomas formed Renegade. They cut this weird, amazing two-sider, following it up one year later with the glam-punker "My Revolution". Portuguese issue, produced by Lomas/Ludvigsen.
